counselor.
The following may be eligible upon special consideration and college review:
Sophomores: Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher and a recommendation from your guidance counselor.

from your guidance counselor.

for Math, English, and Physics courses. See below for specific qualifications of these
courses.
-
ENG 110 Writing 1
Students must be a junior or senior in high school with a 3.0 or higher GPA on a 4.0
scale. Students can submit the ACT or SAT test score if that is available.
Note: An ACT English score of 18 or higher or SAT score of 471 or higher will meet the
prerequisite for enrolling in ENG 110.
ENG 210 Writing II: Writing Across the Disciplines
Successfully completed ENG 110 from MSU with a "C" or better
Note: AP exams are not a substitution for dual credit English courses offered in high
schools. MSU does not apply the AP test score to satisfy the prerequisite for English
210. Students must complete the English 110 seated course to satisfy the requisite
for 210. Students who opt to take the AP English exams rather than the seated course
option prior to graduation may submit the AP test scores to the institution where
they enroll after graduating from high school. Each college/university has a policy
statement regarding AP test scores and equivalency.
